Japanese MATCHA green tea has been getting popular around the world, but ceremony grade premium matcha is still not so familiar even in Japan. We offer the experience which you can enjoy the original taste of premium matcha in casual and creative style.
We call this movement as “Third-wave of matcha”, first wave was premium matcha for formal tea ceremony, second wave is matcha sweets and sweetened drinks in casual style, and third wave is “farm to table premium matcha” in casual style.
"Yamamasa Koyamaen" is a 160-year-old tea wholesaler that has had its own tea garden in Kyoto Uji since the early Edo period. We consistently manufactures premium quality matcha from tea cultivation to grinding.
Yamamasa Koyamaen offers ceremony grade premium matcha to the grand tea masters of Japanese traditional tea ceremony, and more than 1000 tea retailers nationwide, including department stores, hotels, restaurants and domestic and overseas trading companies. We manufacture and wholesale premium tea, mainly
matcha, gyokuro, and sencha.
"ATELIER MATCHA" is Yamamasa Koyamaen's first matcha cafe in Japan. Through “Farm to Tables” premium matcha drinks and sweets, we will present a new matcha experience - where you can casually enjoy the original taste and aroma of premium quality Uji Matcha.
